Client situation
As part of a major restructuring program, a leading automotive client was looking to reorganize its project portfolio in order to improve project portfolio value and increase profitability
Project approach
SDI analyzed client’s project portfolio and identified loss-driving projects, as well as prioritized project types that accounted for most profits (80/20 rule)
Outcome
Although overall business was downsized, client was able to quickly return to profitability: loss-driving projects were flagged for termination as soon as possible and future efforts were focused on truly valuable projects
